A century old art!

One of the many forms of stop-motion animation is Clay Animation. In this form of object animation, each object is sculpted in clay.

As in other forms of object animation, the object is arranged on the set in the background, a film frame is exposed, and the object or character is then moved slightly by hand.

Another frame is taken, and the object is moved slightly again. This cycle is repeated again and again until the animator has achieved the desired amount of film.

Early examples of Clay Animation:
'Gumby' is a blue/green clay humanoid figure animated using stop motion clay animation, an American television series which spanned over a 35-year period.
